Have you had those days where you felt like you were literally being attacked – mentally, physically and spiritually all at the same time?
Days where you got up, physically you knew you weren’t feeling well, at all (migraine, bad cold etc.). Then the mental attack starts – stating you should go back to bed – there’s no way you will make it, but then you remember all that needs to be done for the day and your commitments. You start wrestling back and forth with yourself which causes more unrest.
Then because of all that is going on at the same time you forget . . . you forget you have a God who loves you so much, who is with you, who wants to take care of you and comfort you in your distress. A most wonderful God who longs for you to know this, that His peace (tranquility, harmony, security and safety) He gives freely – a peace that surpasses all understanding.
This is the time I start worshipping God, proclaiming out loud who He is, thanking Him for all that He has done and is doing. This helps to get my eyes off myself and onto the one, who created me, who knows me best and is the one who is always at work in me making me more like His son, Jesus. I then try to get quiet and listen to soaking music, like Words of Healing, and just receive what the Lord has for me!
So what is the point of this writing? It’s this, don’t give up. Continue to persevere but persevere knowing that God is taking care of you. That His attention is on you and He longs for us to look into His eyes and say “Thank you, Daddy, for being with me and for taking care of me.”
Dear Heavenly Father, I thank you for caring so deeply about each and every one of us. I pray that you would break away any lies we believe about our situation and would inject your truth about the situation. I pray for wisdom and understanding and a transformed mind’s eye. I pray your Word would come forth and set your people free! In Jesus name I pray - Amen!
It’s back to school time and everyone is trying to get into the swing of things. Getting everyone to bed at a decent hour, getting into the habit of setting alarm clocks and planning the night before for things such as what to wear?
This can be a very exhausting time for everyone physically, emotionally and spiritually – lots of preparation is needed. I have to keep reminding myself over and over again – patience – think before reacting, give my kids an opportunity to speak out what they may be feeling and keep my words positive over my kids!
One thing I try to do every morning before my kids go off to school is to give them a big hug and pray the following over them out loud: “I pray a blessing and prayers of protection over you in Jesus name.” Sometimes I get the ole “Oh, mom,” or the rolling of the eyes but that doesn’t matter – what matters is they are receiving this wrapping of blessing and protection from their Father in Heaven and bringing it with them wherever they go that day.
What are you speaking to your child before they leave for school in the morning? Is it something positive, affirming and uplifting or is it something negative, demeaning and destroying? Are you agreeing with what Father God says about your child or are you agreeing with what the enemy of their soul is saying? You get to choose.
Father God, I pray for all parents everywhere that your light would shine upon them, your love would flow into them and that this love would flow from them onto and into their children. Help us, Lord to equip our children with all they need to fulfill the destiny and calling you have prepared for their life – all for you and your glory – in Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
As a parent, I never get tired of someone reminding me how important it is to tell or show my kids how much I love them! Oftentimes, it’s my kids that will remind me – they will ask if they can snuggle with me or just run into me and ask for a hug. Those are the best reminders of all!
It is our prayer, here at ThumbPeople, that every parent, grandparent or caregiver realizes the impact and importance of showing and telling their children, often, that they love them! It’s also our prayer that every adult will realize how important and valuable they are and how much their Father in Heaven adores and loves them so much!
This is why we offer the books, music and soaking CD’s, curriculum, written communication and videos that we do. To give these healthy, helpful reminders and resources that spark a renewed flame within to bond at a deeper level with those around them, especially their children.
This video is very powerful and speaks for itself; right from the children’s hearts to ours. We would love your help in spreading this message to as many people you know that would benefit from this helpful reminder of what it is their children really need from them.
Father God, I pray for every family represented here – that you would bind them together, in unity, with your supernatural power of Love. I pray for healing over broken families and hearts and draw each person closer to your son, Jesus which in turn will draw them closer to each other. Thank you, Lord – in Jesus name I pray – AMEN!!
How many times as a mother or father do you not feel like doing something that your kids would like you to do? There have been times that my kids will ask me to play a game, go swimming or hang and watch TV with them but I say “no” either because I’m too tired, too busy or too selfish with my time.
More and more I’m being internally prompted to stop, listen to what my kids are asking me to do with them and just act in a way that is opposite of how I feel. As I take that step forward and begin to play or talk or do that special something with my kids, it breaks off the chains that seemed to have been holding me back. Does anyone else feel this way sometimes?
I have to tell you, the video posted below has been an incredible saving grace to me. Every single time I watch it, it so deeply reminds me of what it is my kids need from me and why this is so important.
This video will melt your heart, make you want to run quickly to your child(ren) and give them a big huge hug and tell them how much you love them! You will not only want to love on your child but you will want to stop all that you are doing and spend quality time with them!
There aren’t too many videos I’ve seen that have had this type of an impact on me and my relationship with my kids. Why don’t you just stop for a moment, bless your own family by watching this video and then make a difference in other family’s lives by spreading this impactful message to as many people you know!
Lord, I pray that you would touch every person’s heart with your love – those that are reading this and watching this video. Lord, impress within us a deeper zeal for you which in turn will turn into a deeper love for those around us or those we come into contact with. Use this video Lord, to help us hear the cry of your children’s hearts – those that you have given to us as special gifts – help us to teach them more about you and your ways and unite our families together as you intended them to be! In Jesus name I pray – AMEN!
We just posted an article “25 Ways to Instill Self Worth in Your Child” and I was pondering these ideas and concepts when it dawned on me that we can use a lot of these same concepts with each other – adult to adult.
We can honor one another by making the other person feel genuinely worthy of our time, attention and care. Take a look at the list and see how these can apply to your adult to adult relationships as well as your relationship with your children and how you can help instill self worth in those around you.
• Stop what you are doing and give the person that is talking to you your full, undivided attention.
• Make eye contact with the person that is talking to you.
• Be aware of your body language when talking with them – show positive expression as they tell you a story.
• Partake in your friends/child’s hobbies.
• Learn to appreciate your friend’s/child’s style of music
• Give your friend/child meaningful compliments
• Take note of your friend’s/child’s strengths and bring them to their attention.
• Help your friend/child set meaningful goals. Then help them to measure their success toward each goal – help to keep them accountable.
• Encourage your friend/child to try new things
• Allow your friend/child to fail but be there to lift them back up
• Expand your friend’s/child’s sphere of life experiences
• Give your friend/child hugs
• Laugh together with your friend/child
• Do some sort of service project with them
• Be a great example of how to treat others with respect and how to see the worth in every individual – making sure you speak positively about others especially in the presence of your friend/child. Seeing the worth of others helps us to recognize our own worth.
• Most importantly, and first on the list, talk with your friend/child about their Father in Heaven, about Jesus their savior who died for them and the power of the Holy Spirit. Tell them they are not a mistake but that God loves them so much that He created them to have a relationship with Him. Tell them that God has a wonderful purpose and plan for their lives and knew them before they were even born. All of these truths help your friend/children to see themselves as a prized gift and so worthy to be alive. This is the only place any of us will find the real foundational structure of our self worth.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for loving us all so much – I ask that you would pour out your wisdom and understanding upon us that we would know how worthy we really are in light of who you say we are! Help us to know this so deeply in our hearts that we would be so full of joy, gratitude and a heart that loves you and seeks after you even more, Lord.
Have you had breakfast this morning? Have you had your first cup of coffee? Have you told your Father in Heaven that you love Him this morning?
Think about waking up in the morning and the first thought you have is “Good morning God, I love you – it’s gonna be a great day because you are with me!” WOW, would that help our attitudes and our direction for the day or what? Especially if you listen closely and sense His speaking back to you – “Good Morning to you Coreene, oh how I love you so much – I have great plans in store for you today – it’s going to be a wonderful day!”
It’s amazing the impact on our lives and others lives when we spend even a couple moments relating with and communicating with our Creator. It helps me to keep my eyes off myself and my issues and turn towards others around me. It helps me to want to focus on my husband, my kids, my co-workers even those I don’t know and extend a caring hand and heart.
It’s got to be such great joy and fun for God to watch His children receive His love and then share it with all who come into contact with that person. That person actually becomes a witness of who God is to those that may know Him and to those that may not know Him.
Our Thumbuddy message is about God’s unconditional love for all of us and also raises awareness in adults and caregivers of children to extend that unconditional love to their children. It stirs an urgency within us all that we can’t wait to show or tell of our love for these precious little ones in our life – that now is the time and it’s never too late!
So remember, every day is a good day to say “I Love You,” to the one who created us and to all those around you, especially those little ones!
“We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, “I love God,” yet hates his brother, he is a liar. For anyone who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, whom he has not seen. And he has given us this command: Whoever loves God must also love his brother.” 1John 4:19-21
Dear Heavenly Father – thank you so much for first loving us, for sending your son to die for us, for showing us what true love really is. I pray for all those reading this that you would breakthrough any strongholds that are restraining your love from their lives – I pray there would be a supernatural downpouring of your love and a new understanding within their hearts of how deeply in love you are with each person. In Jesus name I pray - AMEN!!
The accuser of all people is satan himself – he will do anything to steal all of our blessings that come from God including our peace, joy, faithfulness, goodness, kindness, finances, health etc. He especially wants to destroy all of our relationships including our marriages, family and relatives; friends & coworkers, with our selves and most of all with Jesus.
How does he do all these rotten things? He entices us to agree with him about all the bad and wrong things about ourselves and others. So much so that we believe this is the truth about who we are and who others are and we speak and act out in terrible ways towards ourselves and others. We become tools in satan’s kingdom to partake in the worst bloodshed of all over ourselves and other people’s lives.
Pretty drab picture I know but we all have times that we partake in the above scenario – now let’s move onto the brighter picture!
God, who is love, sent his one and only son, Jesus, who sacrificed His life for each of us so that we may have abundant life in Him. He is the one that saves us from the ways mentioned above. The way in which He sees us and perceives us is with pure love and understanding of who we were created to be – not what we may look like right now. He knows the purposes and plans that God has for each one of us and when we’ve been caught in the enemy traps, He wants to set us free so we can become all that we were created to be.
We are to be the ones that the Kingdom of God uses to help set others free from the accuser. We have the living God, by the power of Holy Spirit, inside of us to help us see ourselves and others through the power of love. A love that knows that someone hurt them, but sees deeper into the heart of that person to see that they are being held captive by the enemy and we hold the power to help set them free.
The next time you start talking badly about others or have terrible thoughts about yourself – try to stop and ask yourself these questions – am I agreeing with the evil one by accusing this person or am I agreeing with God over this person’s life and being a lover? If you are agreeing with the wrong Kingdom, say a quick prayer asking God to help you to see yourself or the person from His perspective and what action you should take – He longs to show us!
Dear Father God –I am so sorry for the way we have agreed so often with the accuser and ask for you to forgive us. You are the one who loves and cherishes each one of us so much. We are asking for eyes to see and ears to hear your word. Open our hearts so that we may have a deeper understanding and knowledge of your ways. Your ways seem so unnatural to us so we need your guidance of how to become lovers not accusers of ourselves or others! In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!!!
·Firm reliance on the integrity, ability, or character of a person or thing.
·Custody; care.
·Something committed into the care of another; charge.
These are some pretty powerful words of what it means to trust. Now let’s talk about trusting God with our lives. Many times I think that I trust Him when in fact it seems I know very little about what trusting him is all about.
For example, I have struggled with migraine headaches for 20+ years. If any of you have ever experienced these you know how crippling they can be (physically & emotionally). I continue to pray and ask for complete healing, I continue to proclaim God’s words of healing over myself, I try to understand why I get them and what I can do to eliminate them and have exhausted myself in trying to get these migraines diagnosed by both the traditional medical field and the natural medical arena.
I’ve come to the end of what I know to do on my own.
Then this scripture came to mind - Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
What is He telling me (us) to do?
To trust Him with all our heart; we need to rely on Him knowing He is a caring Father who loves us so much – who is looking after us all of the time, who does not want to see us, His children, sick or suffering. We really need to trust that He knows what is happening, He cares about what is happening to us and that He will (and is) helping us through this – He has not left us on our own during these times.
To NOT lean on our own understanding; We need to stop trying to figure this out with our own understanding and seek after His counsel.
In all our ways acknowledge Him and his promise to us is He will make our paths straight; we can continue to praise Him, love Him, thank Him and acknowledge Him for who He is all the time; when we are going through these painful times and when we are not. We need to trust that He will smooth out the road before us.
Dear Heavenly Father – I pray for a deeper revelation and understanding of what it means to trust you with our lives. We need your help to continually honor you for who you are in our lives and to really grasp how much you love us and care about us so we won’t be scared and left feeling insecure. Lord, I pray for all those who are going through painful situations that you would become so real to each person that they would receive confirmation from you that you are there and you have each person under your wing of security. We ask for your key that unlocks the storehouse of trust in you! In Jesus name I pray, Amen!!!!
A great resource for soaking in the truth of how much God loves you is our soaking CD Music; Words of Blessing, Words of Healing, Words of Love and Alone with God. Listening to these CD’s and spending time with the Lord has transformed my thinking about me and my relationship with God!
Thinking about 4th of July coming up and celebrating the birth of the United States of America, it reminded me of an incredible vision I had a while back. In the vision, I saw God picking up the United States – as if picking up a little baby. He wrapped the USA in white swaddling clothing, put us in his right arm and sang the following words to the tune of “hush little baby don’t say a word.”
Hush little children papa’s got a word
My love for you will not be blurred
I will awaken your soul with my fire
This will burn up the deception of the liar
My hands are tightly gripped upon your borders
Each of you will act upon my orders
To love me above all else is what I ask
No longer will you be able to hide behind your mask
To love one another unconditionally
This will be the new way you must believe
I am taking you to the next level
Don’t be surprised by attacks from the devil
He has no power over you now
Cause every knee will bow
To the name of Jesus Christ, my son
Whom I love and victory he has won
Little ones believe and entrust your souls to me
If you do this you will surely see
My perfect love will cast away your fears
Just turn your heart; I’ll wipe away your tears
Rest in my presence I have you in my hands
My Spirit is in place to complete my commands
WOW – these are powerful words of healing over the United States of America and for each and every one of us. Let the truth be known that our Father loves us, sent his son, Jesus, to be our everlasting savior and for each one of us that accepts Jesus into our lives we are forgiven and given the very Spirit of God to guide, transform, protect and teach us.
I strongly recommend you listen to a sample of “Words of healing” CD or watch this video and imagine, sitting quietly, just you and God, as you receive transforming words of healing spoken over you. It’s quite an exhilarating experience when we get a deeper revelation of who we are and who He is!
Dear Father, you are so good! Thank you so much for all the blessings you have given us as a country, as your people. Lord, help us not to forget that you are the reason that we even exist as people and as a nation. Father, forgive us for how we have drifted so far away from you. We need your healing as your people and as a country. Help us to keep you at the forefront of all we think, do and say. We love you so much and may our 4th of July celebration be about honoring and praising you! In Jesus name I pray …. Amen!!!
Most of us have a desire to be strong, healthy and in good physical condition. It takes hard work and dedication to get into a healthy condition as well as to maintain it – but it all really starts with knowing our present condition, knowing what we desire, putting together a plan and then working the plan.
Most of us also desire to be strong and healthy in our emotional and spiritual being but may not realize that we also need to exercise these muscles too! Not just once in a while but constantly to get us into a healthy condition as well as to maintain it.
Here are some ideas of how to start ingesting healthy spiritual foods:
• Read (ingest) God’s word – the bible – before you read pray a simple prayer asking God to help you understand what He is saying. Read good books and magazines that have powerful life-giving words.
• Listen to (ingest) good music that have WORDS that are uplifting, affirming and have positive messages of encouragement and truth. There are so many wonderful options.
• Watch (ingest) wholesome TV programs or movies that align with your healthy goal of affirming your worth and value and instills hope and a positive outlook for your spiritual being. If you can’t find anything good for you, don’t watch it!
Do you really get how important this is? If you choose to read, listen to or watch the opposite of what God calls us to feed ourselves with then we are choosing to poison our very spiritual being with all kinds of garbage which will affect the way we live and puts a division between us and God.
We at ThumbPeople want to help you by providing outstanding spiritual muscle building resources. Our Christian soaking music and children’s books are chalk full of nutrients and powerful life giving words! Come listen and take a peek!
Lord, we ask for your Spiritual Building Exercise program - help us to identify where we are at and what you would like us to change in our daily routine. Show us by the power of your Spirit how we can ingest your goodness and ingest healthy spiritual food all day long and into the night. Father, we adore you and know we need your help – in Jesus name we pray – AMEN!
